Today's Gelhausen sample, at 3,478, has begun to drop a bit as we approach the weekend. This afternoon OPN time, farmer dropped off the network due to a software-related issue and the network reconfigured around zelazny. Farmer was restored within the hour. Near news time, asimov experienced intermittent net connections. Other than these problems, the network remained fairly stable.
Progress is being made on the server upgrade project; asuffield in particular seems to be on a roll. Thanks to him, to andy, to dent, to robster and everyone else who has had time to contribute. To get involved, please stop by #mistertoad. And we'd appreciate your trying out the new server code at testbed.openprojects.net, port 9000.
Your editor continues to search for that elusive new job. Still no word on the Seattle situation. He had one brief interview with a local employer in the Bay area, via phone, but is not certain how that one went. Once again, if you have leads that might help, especially in Washington state, US, please email lilo at openprojects dot net or talk to lilo online. Thanks.

Today's Gelhausen sample hit another record at 3,625. Network operation remains nominal.
On the subject of your editor's job hunt, so far his best lead is in Florida and he expects an offer soon. He has an interview scheduled in Savannah, Georgia, next week. One possibility in town is moving rather slowly and a possibility in Seattle is stuck waiting for HR sign-off to allow the interview process to proceed. If the offer arrives from Florida, your editor will have to seriously consider taking that job, but he's not looking forward to the 3,100-mile move.

Today's Gelhausen sample hit a nice new record at 3,605. OPN network operation appears nominal. The staff of the server upgrade project urges you to stop by the new server environment and play. It's on testbed.openprojects.net at port 9000. We're still working through some new feature requirements based on playing with the current image and we can use your help in spotting bugs.
Your editor is still looking for a job. Insert the usual resume link here and if you have any leads, especially in Washington state, US, please email lilo at openprojects dot net or talk to lilo online. Enjoy the rest of your week!

Yesterday's Gelhausen sample value was 3,483. The sample was taken in the middle of a services outage. This might have effected the numbers, which were nonetheless still fairly strong for a Monday. Services went down at 18:34 and came back up at 19:26. The delay in restarting it was caused by file corruption, which necessitated our locating and restoring backups from three hours previous.
The testbed for the server upgrade project has been running off and on since Sunday's news. Staff have found and corrected several bugs and work is continuing. The new services has been connected off and on as well, a good sign. Please take a look when you get a chance and do a bit of testing. The servers are on testbed.openprojects.net, port 9000. And if you're interested in getting involved in the project, please stop by #mistertoad.
Your editor is still pursuing job possibilities and hopes to have something soon. If you have any leads, especially in Washington state, US, please email lilo at openprojects dot net or talk to lilo online. Have an excellent Tuesday!

Yesterday's Gelhausen sample value was 3,223. Today's number is 3,300. News is light for the weekend. Apparently VA Linux Systems' eastern US OSDN sites are down. Quite a few OSDN employees use OPN and we hope their problems are resolved soon. Those of our users who frequent their sourceforge project hosting site will probably be pleased to note that it's still up.
On the job front, your editor has a local lead on a slight possibility of a contract job and may still be in the running for something in Seattle. Florida and Georgia are moving considerably more quickly, though. If you have any leads in Washington state, please drop an email to lilo at openprojects dot net as soon as possible, or talk to lilo online.
Robster and asuffield have been plugging away this evening on getting the testbed system up. Look for it on testbed.openprojects.net, port number 9000 in about half an hour. It consists of the latest pre-release version of dancer-ircd, running with services. It's early, and the services database is not permanent. But please, wander over and bang on it and let us know if you see any problems! Thanks much to the incomparable Klatu for rescuing the timetable by retrieving backups when robster's fingers slipped on an rm command.
Have an excellent week!
