Participation in OPN internal projects requires some sort of time commitment and a general enthusiasm for the network and for free software. Several internal projects exist at present.

The operations project consists of the ongoing operation of the OPN IRC network. The software in use is poorly-supported and we are in the process of converting to a customized version of the hybrid-6 server tree. Our long-term strategy is to move from IRC to a replacement called Corridors.

Finally, our status as a small community project managing a relatively-large interactive network has presented challenges which we are attempting to meet. We'll be creating coursework for catalyst training as time permits and we have begun an unusual "metaproject" we call Mister Toad's Wild Ride.

Each of these projects needs volunteers. To become involved, take a look at the project page that interests you and drop by channel #openprojects on irc.openprojects.net to discuss participation.
