Today's Gelhausen sample is at 2,900, a usual sort of weekend value. The network is functioning nominally.

German PHP coders from #linux-coding have founded the channel #php.ger to provide a PHP support channel for German-language speakers. Please feel free to drop by to look for help or to lend a hand.

Thanks to asuffield for providing a set of fixes for mode propagation and some cleanup for the do-it-yourself debug network. If you'd like to help us get the server upgrade project to release status, please stop by #mistertoad and lend a hand. Thanks to everyone who has helped so far.

Good evening to all. Today's Gelhausen sample occurred at the same time as a brief split of herbert, and as a result was down to 2,433. These things happen. Non-profit registration funds are still in transit. MiDS of #crossfire has expressed interest in getting involved in the catalyst training project, so it's possible this project will make a bit of progress earlier than anticipated. Have a great weekend!

Yesterday's Gelhausen sample, in the usual end-of-week doldrums, dropped to 3,228. Benford is back; the issue appears to have been network cabling and it's been resolved. A brief ping-out occurred this morning with tolkien and a services dropout occurred briefly, but the network appears stable.

Your editor has begun collecting resumes from candidates for board positions. Funds for the lawyer's retainer and governmental fees are in motion from PayPal to a real-world bank account.

Your editor is still looking for work. He's feeling much better other than a persistent cough. Have a great Friday and an excellent weekend.

From jmallett:

Well, about a month or more after moving our official channel here, maybe it's time to announce to the OPN community that xMach's official irc channel is on OpenProjects, in #xMach.

Please join with us in welcoming xMach to OPN!

Yesterday's Gelhausen sample is down a bit at 3,321 and that site had problems earlier today. Benford is currently down and the sponsor is investigating the situation. Other than that, the network has been pretty reliable.

Your editor feels a bit better today and is still looking for a job. He's beginning to get calls, but the process promises to be an extended one. If you're also looking for a job, consider dropping by the #jobs channel, which we're developing as a place for community people to compare notes.

We've contacted our non-profit corporation lawyer today and have begun moving her retainer and the registration fees to a bank account so that we can cut a check to her. So the process is moving along. We hope you enjoy the remainder of your week.

Good morning to all. Yesterday's Gelhausen sample hit another new record, 3,343.

Your editor has collected about six candidates for board membership so far and is now working on contacting the lawyer to begin the incorporation process for the non-profit corporation. If you've got any ideas for a name for the organization, please send an email to web at openprojects dot net. We're looking for a more general name than "openprojects.net" for the umbrella/parent organization, which will not only maintain the network but do some project recruiting and community advocacy/outreach.

The server upgrade project is showing signs of life; tdengler has volunteered to make the rounds and get status information from the developers, which may help get things moving a bit.

Your editor continues to look for a job and still has some fatigue, congestion and coughing, but things are slowly improving.

Today's Gelhausen sample for today hits a new record, 3,313. Thanks to all of our users for participating in the growth of the network and for making that growth meaningful and useful.

Thanks also to asuffield for providing an additional patch, to implement nick change freeze for devoiced clients on a channel. This is part of the current environment and was apparently missed. We're beginning to see developers return to active status which should help the server upgrade project. If you'd like to participate, please stop by #mistertoad.

Your editor has been testing the new heinlein as a European hidden hub. There are latency problems and perhaps some other difficulties. Work is ongoing. Your editor continues to recover from the bug that laid him low and is still looking for a new job.

Have a great week!
