Greetings to all and here's hoping your transition to the new year went smoothly. The new OPN server software has been increasingly stable over the last month and is running well. We're currently at dancer-ircd release 1.0.31; the source tarballs are available for download here along with the operator and user documentation. Thanks to our lead coder, asuffield, for his hard work on both code and documentation, as well as to the many other people who put in long hours on the conversion, including cdlu and dent.

Yesterday's Gelhausen stats were particularly gratifying, reaching and exceeding the 5,000-client mark at 5,164. The high water mark on the servers themselves reached 5,200. The Gelhausen history and seasonal graphs show that we are out of the end-of-year doldrums and well into the new year. We appreciate everyone's help in making the network a success.

Recent changes to the OPN dancer configuration include some server-to-client ping changes. If you have connection problems, you may find it necessary to recover your nick when you return. Please consider registering with NickServ so that you can use the GHOST command (/quote ns help ghost).

Thanks again to everyone for using OPN. News may continue to be sparse due to time limitations. But please, do watch this space for further developments and have a great day!
